A timid creature rides off into the night, her trusted mount her only companion. She's afraid, but she's determined. The forest world that she lives in is a forever expanding maze of dense trees and giant creatures, and she has no idea what she will encounter...

About Small

The story revolves around Pip Thimble, a small creature in a forever growing forest world. She is part of a civilisation of small mouse-like creatures called 'roden'. As some of the smallest creatures in the forest, it can be particularly dangerous for them to simply exist.

Pip takes on a seemingly impossible task, but she is sure that completing it will restore her life to the peaceful existence she once had with her and her grandfather. Can Pip make the impossible possible?

Along the way she must face dangers, make tough choices and ultimately find the door to a long forgotten place, so she can complete her quest and do what she sees as the right thing. But is Pip even right?

About The Artists

Small is written and illustrated by me, Stell (SillyStell). The font in the speech bubbles, as well as some of the other lettering, are by my husband, Will WillWivell. He has nice handwriting.

The comic itself was born a while ago, when I was dealing with something pretty heavy. It was making good progress until a global pandemic hit, and all my motivation (and some of my mental health) fell away. I've since found my love for it again, and I hope to continue to feel inspired, so I can see it through to the end. I find it a lot of fun, and I enjoy the characters!

It's a big learning curve, as I was never specifically trained to make comics; my day job is as a 2D animator for TV productions. I'm trying to stay humble, and I ask for help from my friends when I can who are a bit more experienced. I'm very thankful for them!
